Rosalia Lombardo: The Sleeping Beauty of Palermo Rosalia Lombardo died in 1920 in Palermo, Sicily, just days before her second birthday. She fell victim to pneumonia caused by the Spanish flu. Devastated, her father, Mario Lombardo, asked renowned embalmer Alfredo Salafia to preserve her body. Salafia used a secret chemical formula that kept Rosalia looking incredibly lifelike. Her skin, eyelashes, and even her blue eyes remained soft and natural. Because she looks like she is peacefully sleeping, she became known as the “Sleeping Beauty.” Today, Rosalia is on display in the Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo. For many years, visitors claimed her eyes appeared to open and close. Experts later explained this was only an optical illusion caused by changing light and humidity in the room, not actual movement.   In what sounds almost too unbelievable to be real, a Russian man says a Brown Bear attack was stopped by one of the most unexpected things imaginable — a Baby ringtone. Back in 2014, Igor Vorozhbitsyn was walking through a remote forest in Russia when he was suddenly attacked by a massive bear. The animal reportedly mauled him so severely that he believed he was moments away from death. Alone, injured, and unable to escape, the situation quickly turned into a nightmare. But then something bizarre happened. In the middle of the attack, Igor’s phone suddenly started ringing. His ringtone — Justin Bieber’s hit song “Baby” — blasted loudly through the forest. According to reports, the unexpected sound startled the bear enough to make it back away and eventually flee the scene entirely. What makes the story even stranger is that Igor reportedly wasn’t even a fan of Bieber himself. The ringtone had apparently been set by his granddaughter before the incident.
