On April 16, 2007, inside Norris Hall, during the horror of the Virginia Tech shooting, a 76-year-old professor made a decision that would define courage in its purest form.
His name was Liviu Librescu.
A Holocaust survivor. A man who had already witnessed the worst humanity could offer—and somehow, still chose to stand for others one more time.
That morning started like any other.
Students sat in class. Notes were open. The world outside felt normal.
Then the gunfire began.
At first, confusion. Then realization.
This wasn’t a drill. This wasn’t distant.
